OptoTest adds Polarity Module to OPL-CLX Software Suite

The Polarity Module enables use of the OP415 Polarity Analyzer to help verify the polarity of multifiber devices under test (DUTs) prior to performing insertion and return loss measurements.

Test equipment and technology vendor OptoTest has added a Polarity Module to its OPL-CLX Software Suite. The company has announced additional enhancement as well to the software suite, which is designed to aid insertion loss and return loss testing.

The Polarity Module enables use of the OP415 Polarity Analyzer to help verify the polarity of multifiber devices under test (DUTs) prior to performing insertion and return loss measurements. OptoTest says that polarity verification early in the test process can help identify problems more efficiently.

Meanwhile, OptoTest also has added separate administrator and operator modes, OTDR-style trace graphs, and improved streamline testing to the OPL-CLX suite. The new modes enable administrator and operators to run OPL-CLX in different access distinct levels, which the company says will eliminate unwanted changes to software settings. The OTDR-style trace capability will benefit return loss testing, while support for the use of barcode scanners will streamline test processes.

OptoTest will display the capabilities of the OPL-CLX Software Suite in Booth 4444 at OFC 2020 in San Diego, March 10-12.
