ADVA and Extreme Networks partner for IP-over-optical solutions

Aug. 20, 2001--ADVA Optical Networking, a provider of optical networking solutions, announced it has joined Extreme Networks' "Go Purple" vendor partnering program.

ADVA Optical Networking (German Neuer Markt: ADV), a global provider of optical networking solutions, announced they have joined Extreme Networks, Inc.'s (Nasdaq: EXTR) "Go Purple" vendor partnering program. "Go Purple" delivers IP solutions for large enterprises and service provider networks enabling customers to select from a range of industry-proven and compatible products.

XchangePoint, a pan-European Internet peering point provider, has already deployed the combined ADVA and Extreme Networks solution to support commercial Internet peering points across Europe. ADVA's carrier-class DWDM solution coupled with Extreme Networks' advanced Gigabit Ethernet networking provided a powerful combination that was easy to integrate and helped position XchangePoint strategically.
