Telehouse, which offers data centers, Internet exchange, and managed IT services, has partnered with fiber-optic network services provider Atlantic Metro Communications. The alliance will enable Telehouse to offer hybrid cloud services from bare-metal servers to virtualized private data centers to collocated businesses throughout the United States.

The alliance comes as Atlantic Metro connects its fiber-optic network into Telehouse's facilities at 10th Avenue in New York City. The site is the third Telehouse facility connected to Atlantic Metro's network.

"We are thrilled to be extending our partnership with Atlantic Metro, both with their recent expansion into 85 10th Avenue as well as our joint efforts to align in offering managed IT services regionally and nationally," says RJ Prego, sales director at Telehouse. "The demand for cloud hosting and additional IT managed services require that we continue to supplement our own portfolio. It is important to work with a partner who can offer our customers value, flexibility, and a variety of options; Atlantic Metro is that kind of partner."

The connection into 10th Avenue will enable Telehouse and its customers to leverage Atlantic Metro's network backbone and geographically diverse points of presence. Atlantic Metro offers a variety of metro transport services, including Ethernet transport, private wavelengths, and customized dark fiber deployments.

"Our partnership with Telehouse and recent expansion at 85 10th Avenue provides Telehouse customers with cost-effective access to our cloud hosting and managed services," says Steve Oakie, vice president of sales and marketing at Atlantic Metro. "This expansion builds on our existing managed services and colocation offerings at Telehouse's Staten Island and Los Angeles facilities. We anticipate a close working relationship that can benefit our mutual customers and provide flexibility that will be unique to our collective offering."
