Greenlight completes its integration of Loop Internet
Greenlight Networks completed the final step in its integration of Loop Internet. The fiber internet company recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the former Loop office located at 104 Wyoming Ave in Scranton, Pa. The office is now fully branded as Greenlight Networks. The event featured remarks from Greenlight Networks CEO Mark Murphy; Paul Macknosky, Director for the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and Lackawanna County Commissioners Bill Gaughan and Thom Welby. It completed the acquisition of Loop Internet in October 2025, establishing the company’s first in-state operations hub and dedicated Pennsylvania team. The acquisition of Loop expanded Greenlight’s presence into other parts of the state, including Wilkes-Barre, Mountain Top, Scranton, and Kingston. It also added nearly 36,000 passings to Greenlight’s footprint with additional plans to accelerate and add more than 30,000 additional passings through the rest of 2026. Loop’s experienced local team will continue serving the region as part of Greenlight’s organization, operating out of Wyoming Ave.

Brightspeed accelerates its Rural Laurens County, South Carolina fiber build
Faster internet is officially on its way to Laurens County! Brightspeed is advancing its plan to build its multi-gig-speed fiber internet network for more than 2,000 homes and businesses in Cross Hill and surrounding rural areas. Right now, construction is underway for nearly 1,700 locations. This expansion is part of the company’s broader effort to connect roughly 63,000 locations across the state. Brightspeed’s fiber network expansion in South Carolina is now 75 percent complete. 

Comcast’s Xfinity lights broadband in Northwood, New Hampshire
Comcast’s Xfinity has started construction to connect more than 3,200 new homes and businesses in Northwood to multi-gigabit, symmetrical Internet. Northwood now joins more than 65 million homes and businesses nationwide with access to a network that fuels innovation, productivity, and everyday connection.

Fidium expands its 5 and 8 Gbps fiber service to five new Maine communities
Fidium is extending its new 5 Gig and up to 8 Gig symmetrical speed tiers alongside next-generation WiFi 7 technology in Maine, with Biddeford, Brunswick, Kittery, Lewiston and Rockland. These communities are among the first markets in Maine where Fidium is rolling out these new multi-gig services, with additional locations planned. Mainers can now experience Fidium’s fastest residential internet speeds to date, with WiFi 7 included with 5 Gig and up to 8 Gig service. Fidium’s investment to upgrade its network in Maine is part of its broader commitment to strengthening the state’s digital infrastructure. More than 490,000 homes and businesses statewide can now benefit from Fidium’s 21,000‑mile all‑fiber network.

GoNetspeed activates its first York, Maine fiber broadband customers
Building on its strong and expanding presence throughout Maine, GoNetspeed has begun connecting its first York customers to its fiber internet service. This represents a major step in the company’s $5 million investment in the community, bringing residents and businesses access to a new Internet choice. At the same time, construction continues expanding service to more than 4,800 locations across York. As construction progresses throughout York, even more homes and businesses will become eligible for service in the coming months. GoNetspeed continues to ensure more communities throughout Maine’s southern coast have access to high-speed fiber internet infrastructure, including the town of Kittery, which is closely following York’s progress. The town of York now joins more than 30 communities throughout Maine in connecting to GoNetspeed’s service, including Biddeford, Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Lewiston, Ogunquit, Old Orchard Beach, Portland, Saco and Wells.

Spectrum deepens its Coshocton County, Ohio broadband presence
Spectrum is expanding its fiber broadband network to bring Spectrum Internet, Mobile, TV and Voice services to over 1,700 additional homes and businesses in previously unserved or underserved areas of Coshocton County, Ohio, including locations near the communities of Conesville, Coshocton, Fresno, Keene, Walhonding and Warsaw. The cable MSO’s multi-year rural construction initiative is driven by more than $7 billion in private investment from Spectrum. It will ultimately add 100,000 miles of fiber network infrastructure and deliver symmetrical and multi-gigabit speeds to more than 1.7 million new locations across the country.
