Cable ONE (NYSE:CABO) has launched its DOCSIS 3.0-based GigaOne gigabit Internet service in Aransas Pass and Port Lavaca, TX.

As of January, the $175 a month service was available in 95% of the company's footprint, 200+ communities. It was most recently launched in Parsons and Chanute, KS. To date, the service has been deployed in parts of Alabama, Idaho, Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota, Minnesota, Arizona, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Mississippi.

"Cable ONE is the first provider in the majority of our markets to offer gigabit speeds to residential customers," said Varn Chavez, Cable ONE director of residential marketing. "Unlike many of our competitors, gigabit service is available to all of our customers - not just a select few in certain areas. We've been committed for decades to serving smaller cities and towns, and we are delighted to provide them with the latest technology."

Cable ONE says it has invested more than $770 million over the past five years on network upgrades.
