Cable ONE (NYSE:CABO) has launched its GigaONE gigabit Internet service in Brookhaven and McComb, MS. The company also recently launched the DOCSIS 3.0-based 1 Gbps service in Bartlesville and Ponca City, OK. Previous GigaONE deployments in Mississippi include Biloxi and Gulfport.
Cable ONE first announced plans to launch gigabit in 200+ markets last November, and the company says the service is now available in the majority of its markets. To date, the service has been deployed in parts of Alabama, Idaho, Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota, Minnesota, Arizona, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Mississippi.
The company says it has invested more than $500 million over the past five years on network upgrades to support the deployments.
"GigaONE will support the technology needs of the communities we serve, now and in the future," said Joe Felbab, vice president of marketing for Cable ONE. "We are excited to be able to offer gigabit service to nearly 1.5 million homes in the markets we serve."
