FONS acquires Spoval assets

February 4, 2003 -- Fiber Optic Network Solutions (FONS), a provider of connectivity products, announced today that it has acquired certain assets of Spoval Fiber Optics (Spokane, WA).

FONS' acquisition ensures that Spoval customers will continue to receive the high level of product quality and service that they are used to. With this acquisition, Spoval customers will have access to all existing products as well as an even broader range of products available under the FONS' brand name. This move expands FONS' market base with new national accounts and strengthens geographic reach with local accounts in the western region of the country. FONS is based in Northborough, MA.

In conjunction with this acquisition, FONS is pleased to welcome Mark Fralich as a director of sales, western region. Mark was a cofounder of Spoval in 1993 and most recently served as vice president
of sales and marketing at Spoval.
