Connected2Fiber, which offers a SaaS-based platform for network buyers and sellers, has changed its name to Connectbase. The new name reflects the company’s expansion to deliver access to networks not based on fiber optics.
Connectbase asserts its SaaS-based platform, The Connected World, manages more than 1.4 billion locations across 147 countries. The platform’s buyer cloud enables network providers to identify, manage, and quote ideal provider partners, thus avoiding fallout issues that the company asserts plague more than 20% of all connectivity orders globally. Meanwhile, the seller cloud is designed to ensure that sellers of connectivity can take full advantage of opportunities and streamline the sales process, Connectbase adds.
Initially the platform focused on buying and selling of connectivity on fiber-optic networks. However, the company now is aligning with a wider spectrum of network connectivity options, including wireless, copper, and coax as well as fiber.
"From day one, we set out on a path to catalog the world's networks with location context and specificity and create a platform that streamlines and automates connectivity buying and selling," comments Ben Edmond, founder and CEO of what is now Connectbase. "Our mission today, as it has always been, is to be the location source of truth for the connectivity industry. That doesn't mean simply bringing buyers and sellers together. It means doing so on a foundation of detailed, location-specific intelligence, automation, and efficiency."
