OptoTest now offers adapters for testing duplex LC (including unibody), 16f MTP, and CS fiber-optic connectors via the OP-SPHR Integrating Sphere. The adapters expand the number of connectors across which technicians can measure insertion loss and return loss of all fibers without having to move or slide the adapter, says the company.

The adapters also are easily interchangeable to accommodate the testing of hybrid cables, OptoTest adds, which helps promote flexibility in production applications.

The release of the adopters coincides with a redesign of the OP-SPHR to accommodate the higher fiber density such connectors support. The OP-SPHR remains backwards-compatible to existing adapters and applications and maintains test stability and repeatability, OptoTest says.
