Fiber Optic Center unveils ÅngströmBond Solutions Center to offer epoxy expertise and tips

Fiber Optic Center, Inc. (FOC), a distributor of fiber-optic communications technology with an emphasis on cable assembly applications, is unveiling the ÅngströmBond Solutions Center to deliver epoxy expertise via technical content, best practices, weekly tips, and access to a dedicated adhesives expert, FOC's technical manager for epoxies, Kelly Barker.

The independent development of large-effective-area fibers by multiple manufacturers has created the need for a connectivity components partner who can advise on the impact of epoxy on fiber in the various types of ferrules used today, says FOC. The ÅngströmBond Solutions Center will address this demand, based on the ÅngströmBond line, which FOC touts as the only specialty adhesive line developed exclusively for fiber-optic applications.

The Solutions Center will offer specialty stock materials and custom epoxies in custom package sizes. It also will offer a cost-effective process to qualify ÅngströmBond as a new adhesive supplier. FOC says the introduction of the ÅngströmBond Solutions Center builds on the company's efforts to improve service to its clients, which include a promotion and a new hire last year (see "Fiber Optic Center beefs up support staff").
